We arrived at Heathrow around noon two days ago, in pouring rain. By the time we got to our flat in Brighton it was after 3pm and the sun was shining. The light here after rain is so beautiful. There was still a heavy cloud cover with lots of water in it, so the light was soft but very bright reflecting off of sea and clouds.
We walked to the nearest supermarket to get some groceries - milk, bread, fruit and dinner. I went to bed early and slept 12 hours.
The next day we walked into town to get more groceries at a better supermarket. I went to bed a little later by slept 13 hours.
Today we walked from our flat along the undercliff walk to Saltdean, about 5 miles away. Then, we took the bus home.
We've been here 55 hours and I've slept 25 of them, and I'm about to go to bed again.
