'Harms way?' Does this mean I shouldn't go look at the 35 foot waves?
And shouldn't there be an apostrophe in 'Harms?'

35 foot waves is plural. Harms is plural. So I think it's okay -- Lives may be at risk for people who put themselves in [35 foot waves] way.
Does Harm possess the Way?
What gives me unease is the disconnect between the lives at risk and the people. Is it those people's lives at risk? Or the lives of other people? They are "lives ...for people..." -- what does that mean?
