It must be kismet, or the Buddhist equivalent -- that is the second time I've heard that joke in two days. The other is a running gag in Terry Pratchett's "Johnny and the Bomb", which has just been re-issued in the USA.
I doubt James has just read the book, so definitely there's something else hot about that joke!

Actually, if the truth be told, that is an old joke, since I first heard it at least ten years ago. But I still think that it's a good ONE.
